After that, I decided to find somewhere else for reference (At least partly because his screenshot didn't show me what her shoes looked like), and I found this rather awesome thread (Incidentally, I got to it by clicking on this image in my Google image search window. None of the character designs in that thread come up if you search for "umineko lambdadelta", because the forum is in Japanese. Also, isn't Kanon's coat awesome? If he had sunglasses and a ponytail, he'd look like my Japanese doppelganger).
Also, this image, too, was drawn while listening to the Umineko soundtrack, as is right and proper. One of those alternate instrumental versions of the main theme sounds seriously like it was played by the Gypsy Kings. Makes me want to listen to Moorea.
Anyway, I was inking this at the same time as I was helping Yuuei bugfix Inkwash, so there was a certain amount of screwiness in the inking. This I tried to fix with Yuuei's white gel roll, but, as I suspected, the marker couldn't draw on top of it. So, if you're really that interested, you can check out the whiteout scars on her skirt and pumpkin.
Oh, by the way, I haven't mentioned yet how awesome that pumpkin is. Well, it is. It's awesome (Also, apparently Ryukishi07 knows what a pumpkin leaf looks like. I find this (very mildly) surprising).
...Anyway, does this woman really look like the kind of person who would sadistically massacre children, plot to have thousands of people systematically killed, and put rat poison in her superior's coffee?
...Personally, I think she does. I mean, seriously. That pink is scaring me. A lot.
Actually I kind of wonder if maybe Lambdadelta is not, in fact, Takano, but rather that she is a being similar to Frederica--Someone born of Takano's repeated memories and experiences. After all, doesn't it sort of seem like Takano is remembering everything, too?
Though, one does sort of wonder what the conditions of the "game" Frederica and Lambdadelta were playing was. After all, Takano "won" hundreds of time, and Rika "won" only once, but Lambdadelta "lost" the game (I did just now, too, incidentally). Of maybe it was a time limit. That would make more sense, to be sure.
Also, maybe Hanyuu is one of the Witches, too--She certainly seems to be suspiciously similar in nature to Beatrice--No one can see her, she is represented by an insect, etc. Though, I don't recall seeing any glowing cicadas around.
...Though, I think I prefer the theory that Hanyuu is just the product of all the villagers passive belief in Oyashiro-sama--She was the last sacrifice, a few hundred years ago, and has been hanging around the shrine absorbing all the belief since, and as such has a certain number of powers (WTF BULLET BOUNCE).
Actually, now that I think about it, Frederica has a cat's tail (With a bow tied around it, incidentally), and Hanyuu has a sheep's horns. But I'm fairly sure none of the other witches have animal appendages.
...Speaking of bows, I just checked, and, in the original character design, Lambdadelta has a mix of red bows and red hard candies stuck to her dress/hat/hair/etc, but in this picture, I just sort of assumed they were all bows. Oops (Also, I added those two layerings on the top part of her skirt, because I made it a little longer, and it looked boring at the bottom).
Hm... I think I want to draw Frederica next.
Also, earlier today, Yuuei was cleaning out his room, and he gave me Suzumiya Haruhi no Gyakuten 2+1. Playing Touhou games and reading Touhou manga and actually understanding everything they say has increased my confidence in my Japanese, but... Let's see if I can keep that confidence while playing a text-based adventure game, shall we?

right here, right now (Present day--Present time. Hahaha!), the soundtrack has played through from beginning to end at least seven times.
Though, this isn't helped be the fact that I have been sitting in front of my computer screen for the past ~1.5 hours reading Silent Sinner in Blue and waiting for The GIMP to crop the image (It was taking a long time because I had to scan the image at 1200 DPI, which I had to do because 24 bit color at 400 DPI just isn't high enough quality to capture the subtlety of >12 layers of Warm Grey. In fact, 1200 DPI isn't enough to do it, but The GIMP was freezing anyway).
I find Reimu's kleptomania amusing. And Remilia's total fecklessness (What is it about vampires that makes them irresponsible, anyway? Maybe their brains grow very, very slowly. Oh, wait--I know what it is! Carbohydrates are essential for proper mental development, and you won't find many of them in blood. Makes perfect sense. I should write a paper and publish).Actually, I now want to play a few more Touhou games even more than I did before. Let's see--I have Immaterial and Missing Power on the PC, but I'll need to download WinRAR to install it, there's a copy of Silent Sinner in Blue in the back of the book, and then my father has a bunch more (I'm pretty sure he has at least Phantasmagoria of Flower View and one other... Don't know where they are, though)... So, see you all next July.Wait, I need to get up at 7 tomorrow today. SNAP.
